Digitalization and intelligence are hot topics of sensor research and form an importantfoundation for high-tech developments. Aimed at the application status of the traction sensorin Vehicle traction performance test, the paper design a kind of digital intelligent tractionsensor based on USB communication. The design of the hardware adopt MSP430micro-controller, mainly completed the design of the hardware and software.Now, most of the common sensors or usually used sensors have realized intelligence, butthe traction sensor in Vehicle traction performance test has not been because of small numberand market scale. In the process of the Vehicle traction performance test, in order to ensureNonlinear and accuracy, the test must change different scale sensors based on the tractionpower of the vehicle.After changed, the resolution changed, so the system must adjust thehardware and software, the process of the changing is very complex. All these make the testdifficult, so the application of intelligence in traction sensor is very necessary and important.In this paper, the research status on overcoming the nonlinear error and temperaturedrift error. Furthermore, an improved subsection correction method based on BP neuralnetwork for reducing nonlinear error, a data fusion method based on RBF neural network forreducing temperature drift error are proposed. The method improved the accuracy of the testsystem and can realize the compensation in all scale. So people can complete some tests ofdifferent scale, but needn't change the traction sensor. This makes the process of the Vehicletraction performance test very easy.System can have great memory based on USB communication, and includeself-diagnostic, self-correction, self-calibration, etc. Application of MSP430 make thesystem's power reduce, many external modules integrated in the MCU predigest the design ofthe system, reduce the area.Proved by the test, the design of the intelligent traction sensor in Vehicle tractionperformance test improved the efficiency greatly and reduce the complexion of the process, itcan attain high resolution and accuracy, have better application worth.
