Today’s football tournament transmission has been into the era of omnimedia in which network communication is increasingly significant and shouldn’t be overlooked. Looking at China’s soccer website, the main types are still portal soccer channel represented by four major portal and vertical soccer website represented by GoalHi. The research method of this paper includes text analysis, case study and qualitative method. This article selected the hottest2012European Cup as a case, summarized the features of large football tournament communication process (pregame report, report between the match, report after the match) in the era of omnimedia, revealed the relevance of domestic soccer website coverage, and specified and stated the difference between portal soccer channel and vertical soccer website. The former offers the comprehensive and multi-angle coverage as much as possible, while launching the online voting, and the use of micro-blog winning the celebrity effect. The own essential specialization makes the latter indispensable in the process of tournament transmission.Combined with the four hot events of the2012European Cup, this paper made rational consideration and placed the agenda setting, pseudo-environment, cultivation theory, opinion leader etc. communication classical theory under the network communication environment so as to doubt the reliability.On this basis, the author described coping strategies of the website football match coverage in the trend of media convergence:More subtle private platform for the spread of mobile phones, pad has gradually taken shape, marriage between handsets and microblog is no longer a fantasy, Computer-assisted journalism will be popular in the future.
