| Purpose:Observation the clinical efficacy of acupuncture Ashi point under the guidance of muscle meridian theory in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis, and the study provides effective clinical evidences for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis.Material and method:60patients with knee osteoarthritis were randomly divided into therapeutic group(n=30) and control group(n=30). The acupuncture Ashi point under the guidance of muscle meridian theory was applied in therapeutic group. Once a day,30minutes per day for10days and have a rest for3days, continuously for30days. And the control group treated with routine acouncture for30days. The efficacy were evaluated on the pretreatment and after treatment. The efficacy indices included Visual analogue scale (VAS), score of WOMAC Index of KOA and total efficacy rate. The side effects were also observed. Results:There were statistically significant differences in pain reduction on movement and VAS after treatment than pre-treatmeat (P<0.05). About effect of VAS:total effect rate is97.63%in treatment group, the other is80.00%,the differences between these two groups has statistically significance (P<0.05). About effect of score of pressing pain:the differences between these two groups has statistically significance (P0.05). About effect of score of WOMAC Index of OA:the differences between these two groups has statistically significance (P <0.05).Conclusion:1. Acupuncture Ashi point under the guidance of muscle meridian theory in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis is superior to traditional methods. 2. Acupuncture Ashi point under the guidance of muscle meridian theory can obviously improve the clinical symptoms for patients with knee osteoarthritis, such as pain and motor disturbance. It is a safe and effective therapy. |
