Pathogenesis of asthma is so complex that completely cured are many difficulties. Currently, modern medical treatment is the main treatment of airway inflammation. Many patients need long-term medication and side effects of the drugs can not be ignored. The efficacy of TCM to treat asthma from a holistic view of patients, has been universally acknowledged by the majority of physicians and patients.The author writing this article through to normal practice, collect records, consult mentor books and manuscripts, accept teach by precept and example. This article mainly includes two parts:literature review and experience summary.The literature review is divided into three parts:in the first part the author refer to and combine many of the ancient literature of the modern treatment of asthma, report that of bronchial asthma with TCM known as brief overview from antiquity, mainly on the pathogenesis and therapeutic methods and the progress. The second part is mainly from the start with the overview of the laboratory study on kidney deficiency research progress on treatment of bronchial asthma. The growth of the Western medicine treatment of asthma is briefly described in the third part of the status.Experience is divided into two parts:Tutor’s academic thought on the first part made a preliminary summary. The author’s mentor has effective methods peculiarity which I arrange as follow:advocate four class:yin and yang, cold and heat; put patients first; treat with comprehensive therapy. Part II details tutor’s experience on treatment of bronchial asthma, from the etiology and pathogenesis, syndrome differentiation, dialectical points, case analysis and other aspects of a comprehensive search. The etiology can be summarized as exogenous and internal injuries, they can be injured in the diet, in the emotional and in the virtual. But both have deficiency in the foundation. Professor Dong treat asthma by differentiating syndrome of cold and heat both attack and in the remission, the this pathema is divided into cold type asthma, hot type asthma and cold-inclusion type asthma.In the clinical flexibility use can significantly shorten the course of treatment, rapid improvement of symptoms of disease, were well received by the majority of patients.
