Milli Fire Needle Mild Moxibustion And Improve Sleep Quality And The Quality Of Life After Herpes Zoster Neuralgia

Objective:To evaluate the curative effect of filiform-fire needle plus moxibustion on improving the sleep quality and the quality of life in terms of patients with postherpetic neuralgia(PÎ¥-TN). To observe the rating change of physical function, general health, social function, mejital health and other aspects before and after the treatment of PHN in comparing filiform-fire needle with medicine. To observe the operation standards, procedure and security of the therapy with filiform-fire needle plus moxibustion on treating postherpetic neuralgia.Methods:50c ases of PHN patients were randomly divided into treatment group(filiform-fire needle plus moxibustion) and the control group(Gabapentin plus simulated acupuncture). Record the VASS score. SF-36score and satisfaction before and after the treatment of1st,2nd,3rd,6th,9th,12th. Statistical analysis the records using T test, rank test and Chi-square test with SPSS18.0.Results:Effects on improving the sleep quality of treatment group were better than those of the control group(P<0.05). The long term effects of filiform-firc needle is better than taking Gabapentin. In the term of improving the quality of life, no differences of curative effect were observed between th^e treatment group and the control group. And no adverse events were observed, such as fainting during acupuncture treatment, infection. There were one case ot dizziness, two cases of blood sugar increasing.Conclusion:Filiform-fire needle plus moxibustion is effective and safe on treating PHN in the term of improving the quality of sleep and life. It is secure, effective and easily operating to treating PHN using filifo rm-fire needle plus moxibustion. The patients with PHN can get less painful, better sleep, better physical function and indirectly improved mental health with low recurrence. Filiform-fire needle plus moxibustion is suitable for being generalized on treating PHN.
