The experimental group was given extraeducation of self-care strengthening. Respectively to the Exercise of Self-care AgencySeale (ESCA), quality of life scale of eye disease with visual functional lesion andself-designed questionnaire were used to assess the postoperative patients withdiabetic retinopathy on the second day after operation, one month after operation andthree months after operation. All data were collected by excel and analyzed bySPSS18.0software package, which involved chi-square test, Mann-Whitney rank sumtest, Fisher’s Exact Test, t test, One-way ANOVA and linear correlation analysis. Results1. ESCA score of postoperative patients with Diabetic Retinopathy was117.60±14.85,which presented a high level of self-care ability.2. Quality of life score of postoperative patients with Diabetic Retinopathy was129.48±18.23, which presented a middle level of quality of life.3. Findings from the present study revealed that there was a significant positiverelationship between the self-care agency and quality of life in postoperative patientswith diabetic retinopathy(r=0.7304,P<0.01).4. Three months after operation, self-care ability of postoperative patients withDiabetic Retinopathy in the experimental group was obviously higher than that in thecontrol group except self-nursing skills(P<0.05),Social activities and spiritualpsychology of Quality of life in the experimental group was obviously higher thanthat in the control group(P<0.05).ConclusionSelf-care strengthening is an effective method to improve the quality of life, ithas practical significance to improve the self-care agency, promote rehabilitation ofpatients and improve the quality of life.
