Objective: Through the application of nursing sharps injury questionnaire, this studyaims to analyze the main reason for sharp injuries of nursing staff scientifically andcomprehensively, and propose effective measurements to prevent it.Methods: Utilize the method of literature analysis and expert consultation toformulate the nurses sharp injury questionnaire; Utilize the questionnaire to investigate theoccurrence and solution to the nurses sharp injuries; Utilize interview method on the deanof the hospital in charge of nursing work and the director of Nursing and the nurses toanalyze the influence of hospital management factors on sharp injuries; at last, analyze thedata collected up by using the basic methods of data analysis.Results:1. Choose all the nurses of a general hospital for the study,totally835qualifiedquestionnaires were collected.2. Of the835respondents,712people got sharp injuries at least for one time,accounting for85.3%of the total number,66.8%of the respondents got sharp injuries for1-3times and19.2%were4-5times.3. The results of this survey show that needles and ampoules were the main sharpswhich led to sharp injuries, followed by the blade and the suture needle.4. The results of this survey show that the correct rate of post-processing method afterthe occurrence of sharp injuries is63.8%,50.4%of respondents could grasp the standardcontents of prevention correctly. The results of acquisition channels of the occupationalprotection knowledge like sharp injuries show that45.9%of the people received the relatedknowledge at school, and54.1%of nurses received the training of professional protectionknowledge at work. 5. After the occurrence of sharp injuries,86.1%of the respondents took measures,including52.3%got the wound disinfected,3.5%of the nurses got vaccinated. Only26.9percent of people would take the initiative to report to the relevant departments. Afterinvestigating the reason for the unreported ones, it is showed that30.1percent of thosepolled said that there was no need to report to the relevant departments after the occurrenceof sharp injuries,26.0percent of them said that they were too busy to report,24.5%ofpeople thought that a lot of trouble,9.8%percent of them didn’t know the process,9.6%percent of them didn’t report because of the other reasons.6. Different work experience, titles, qualifications make a significant difference in thesharp injury incidence (P <0.01).Conclusion:1. Management departments of the hospital must strengthen occupational protectioneducation and training of clinical nurses to lower the sharp injury exposure rate to aminimum;2. Nurses should be strictly compliant with the clinical operating procedures, andenhance prevention skills, which is an important measurement to avoid sharps injuries;3. It should be escalated after the occurrence of sharp injuries, which can not onlyprevent the pollution after the nurses getting the sharp injuries infection timely andeffectively, but also provide accurate information to the management department to takespecific management measures;4. Strengthen the scientific management of existing nursing staff, formulate reasonableworking hours for nurses and regulate the intensity of the work appropriately to reduce thenurses’ work stress and tension;...
