Background:Sharp instrument injury (SI) is a common occupation injury of medical staff. It is often poses great mental and physical health threats to medical staff. Besides, huge economic burden caused by SI can not be underestimated. A large number surveys of recent years found that the incidence of SI is more and more high, But there is less research on the protective measures.Objective:Our retrospective study analyzed the data of sharp instrument injuries of medical staff in one Top three hospital from 2012 to 2014 in order to find the risk factors of medical staff sharp instrument injuries and to put forward effective measurements to prevent it.Methods:1. Literature Analysis:Review the The domestic and foreign literatures about the sharp instrument injuries of nursing staff to analyze the current research methods and research conclusions of sharp instrument injuries.2. Expert Consultation:Interview the experts on hospital management, health management and clinical medicine about the causes, influence factors and preventive methods.3. Analyzed the data of sharp instrument injuries of medical staff in one Top three hospital from 2012 to 2014 systematically by to find the risk factors of medical staff sharp instrument injuries.4. Analyze the data collected up by using Monitoring system of blood occupation exposure(American EPInet Monitoring software) and SPSS software version 17.0 (SPSS Inc).Results:1. The incidence of sharp instrument injuries is high, but it has a The downward trend year by year.2. Nurses has the highest incidence of sharp instrument injuries, and then interns, doctors and workers.3.98.19% of the medical staff had sharp instrument injuries many times.4. The main medical instruments of sharp instrument injures were scalp steel(47.3%),disposable syringe(14.14%),and surgical stitches(6.65%). But the injure instruments were different in different occupations; 5. medical staff sharp instrument injuries occurred withdrawing needles(20.34%),putting the needles into the boxes(16.28%) and disposing medical waste(10.33%). And the injure operations were different in different occupations.6.The main departments where the sharp instrument injuries usually occurred were the ordinary ward(60.47%), the operating room(14.48%). And The main departments where the sharp instrument injuries usually occurred were different in different occupations.7. After the sharp instrument injuries,89.96% of the injured individuals took steps,10.04% of the injured individuals did not take steps.83.22%(1257 individuals) of the injured individuals who took steps took normative steps, while 16.78%(257 individuals) of them did not take normative steps.8.532 cases of the total number(3882) were exposed to positive blood-borne pathogens. The positive incidence was 13.7%. The main pathogens were HBV, syphilis, HCV and HIV.Conclusion&Proposal:Strengthen the training of the staff skills, The standard operation behavior; Strengthen the education and training of medical staff occupational safety protection, enhance the consciousness of occupational protection; Establish a blood-borne pathogens occupational exposure to prevention and control system; Improve the management of occupational protection system; To strengthen the hospital daily occupational protection countermeasure implementation is to ensure that occupational safety important measures to reduce the sharp instrument injury occurred.
