ObjectTo observe the effect of behavior change of type2diabetes mellitus usedEmpowerment by Quantitative and Qualitative methods.To observe the view of diabetes’ feeling of the educators’ educationmethods and content,which would complete the Quantitative research.To observe the self-efficacy level of diabetes used quantitative method,and were educated by Empowerment to observe the self-efficacy、selfmanagement ability and behavior change;MethodsThis study used sequential studies which contained qualitative and quantitative methods which is the main research line. Phrase I: thequantitative study using the classical diabetes to observe the feeling aboutdiabetes education. This study used the phenomenology and semi-structuredinterview method, and used the tape-recording to recording the content ofinterviewing, the content were coding analysis, triangulation method to assurethe efficacy. Phrase II: The patients who came to Central Hospital of Jinanwere random divided into2groups called controlled group and tested group.The controlled group was used up by traditional education, the tested groupwere used by Empowerment and the results of qualitative research. Thediabetes were tested by DSES and biochemistry test. According to thepurposes, the data was analysised by SPSS13.0software. The numerical datawas expressed as mean±SD and analyzed by two sample t-test of variance, χ2test and Pearson according to the different aims and data. A threshold forsignificance was set as P<0.05.Results1.The qualitative study result showed some factors which relatedbehavior change, made the basic of the Empowerment education. 2. Empowerment could promote the self-efficacy、the self-managementability and behavior change of Type2diabetes.2.1The data could be compared between controlled group and testedgroup. There is no statistic signification between the data included age, sex,the knowledge level and the self-efficacy level between the controlled groupand tested group(P>0.05).2.2Empowerment could promote the level of self-efficacy and healthindex. There is statistic signification on the data of5sub-items of DSEStested group after the MI education, compared with before educated on testedgroup and whether before or after traditional educated to the controlledgroup.(P<0.05).2.3There is statistic signification on the data between the rate of goalattainment of BG, BP, Weight and BMI patients after educated byEmpowerment on the tested group and before the education,weather before orafter Traditional education of controlled group(P<0.05).Conclusions1Empowerment could promote self-efficacy of diabetes, advanced the behavior change, and which one of education methods could be accepted bydiabetes.2The sequential studies may assure the conception、 treasure、technology、method and effect of “Patients Center”.3Obtained the feeling,value,health belief of diabetes through thequalitative study, completed the quantitative method through the explainmethod,it could explore the concept and mode of the diabetes education.
