| ObjectivesThis study points out three objectives, according to a survey of the GeneralSelf-efficacy and job burnout among Level3General hospital in east of China. First, toevaluate the status of job burnout. Second, to explore the relationship between GeneralSelf-efficacy, Personality and Job Burnout of Medical Staff. Thirdly, to investigate thefeature of Only-child’s burnout. It also provides help in the following aspects:managers’taking proper measures in hospital; building up a healthy work environment;promoting jobsatisfaction, optimizing nursing quality.MethodsThis is a cross-sectional study. Maslach Burnout Iventory(MBI), Eysenck PersonalityQuestionaire (EPQ) and General Self-efficacy Scale(GSES) were distributed to550doctors and nurses. All data processing was with software SPSS18.0. The statisticalmethods used were t-test, correlation analysis, and variance analysis.Results1. The mean of MBI was10.60±5.276in Emotional Exhaustion,6.41±4.412inDepersonalization, and13.70±8.336in Diminished Personal Accomplishment. DiminishedPersonal Accomplishment got the highest scores in three dimensions.2. Differences were found in job burnout according to different demographiccharacteristics, such as sexuality, age, education level, marital status, et al.3. Significant differences were found in the only-child medical staff according to N-scale(t=1.829,p<0.05),GSES(r=-2.000,p<0.01), depersonalization(t=1.858,p<0.05) anddiminished personal accomplishment(t=2.937,p<0.01).4. There was significantly negative correlation between self-efficacy and jobburnout(r=-0.250,p<0.01;r=-0.310,p<0.01;r=-0.391,p<0.01). There were significantlynegative correlation between job burnout and E-scale((r=-0.190,p<0.01;r=-0.228,p<0.01;r=-0.172,p<0.01) while positive correlation between job burnout and N-scale(r=0.398,p<0.01;r=0.348,p<0.01;r=0.221,p<0.01), P-scale(r=0.193,p<0.01;r=0.238,p<0.01). Conclusions1. The level of job burnout is moderate. And the degrees of Depersonalization were notserious and which of Diminished Personal Accomplishment were relatively serious.2. The result showed that there was significantly correlation between personality and jobburnout: negative correlation between Extraversion and job burnout, and positivecorrelation between Neurotic and job burnout. Depersonalization and Diminished PersonalAccomplishment were positive correlated with Psychoticism.3. There was significantly negative correlation between self-efficacy and job burnout. Thelevel of job burnout becomed low significantly with the increasing level of self-efficacy.4. Analysis of factors showed that only-child was a high sensitive factor. |
