Objective:To investigate the expression and clinical significance of PRL-3, MMP-7and CD105protein in breast cancer tissues, and to detect the correlation between their expression levels and tumor invasion and metastasis in breast cancer. Methods:The expression of PRL-3, MMP-7and CD105protein was detected by SP immunohistochemistry in68cases of breast cancer tissues and surrounding cases of normal breast tissues. The correlation of their expression to clinicopathologic features were analyzed in68cases of breast cancer.Results:(1)The PRL-3protein was overexpressed in breast cancer tissues. The positive expression of PRL-3(67.6%) protein in68breast cancer tissues was significantly higher than that in68normal breast tissues (38.2%)(P<0.01). In addition, the frequency of PRL-3protein expression was92.2%in metastatic breast cancer in lymph node, significantly higher than that(67.6%)in primary breast cancer (P<0.05).The expression of PRL-3was significantly related to lymph node metastasis and TNM stages (P<0.05),but not to age of breast cancer patients (P>0.05).(2) The MMP-7protein was overexpressed in breast cancer tissues. The positive expression of MMP-7(73.5%) protein in68breast cancer tissues was significantly higher than that in68normal breast tissues(33.8%)(P<0.01). The expression of MMP-7was significantly related to lymph node metastasis and TNM stages (P<0.01), but not to age of breast cancer patients.(P>0.05).(3) MVD detected by CD105(CD105-MVD) in lymph-node metastasis group(44.11±6.14) was significantly higher than that in no-metastasis group(36.42±5.49),and CD105-MVD in pathological stage of Ⅲ-Ⅳ group (46.70±5.49)was significantly higher than that in Ⅰ-Ⅱ (38.18±5.23)(P<0.01). CD105-MVD is positively correlation with lymph-node and pathological stage. (4)A positive correlation was found between the expression of PRL-3and mmp-7protein in breast cancer (r=0.583,P<0.01).(5) The expression of PRL-3was positively correlation with CD105-MVD in breast cancer (r=0.778, p<0.01).(6) The expression of MMP-7was positively correlation with CD105-MVD in breast cancer (r=0.701, p<0.01).Conclusions:(1) The overexpression of PRL-3and MMP-7was related with the metastasis and invasion of breast cancer, which suggested they may play a synergistic effect to promote the metastasis and invasion of breast cancer.(2) The expression of PRL-3and MMP-7was positively correlation with CD105-MVD in breast cancer, which may accelerate growth and metastasis of breast carcinoma by promote angiogenesis.(3) The combined dection of PRL-3,MMP-7and CD105-MVD in breast cancer may contribute to diagnosis, prognosis of breast cancer.
