Objective:To seek a safety and convenient approach that can solve the insomnia of perimenopausal period women,we apply pressing and kneading on acupuncture points before sleeping.Method:The patients who came to the affiliated No.1hospital of Heilongjiang University of TCM during Dec.2010and Dec.2011were investigated.There are30patients who conform to the diagnostic standards and inclusion criteria, eighteen with kidney yin deficiency and twelve patients with kidney yang. The therapy is pressing and kneading on acupuncture points,2months for a period of treatment. The symptom and SPIEGEL changes were used for assessing treatment effects before and after treatments.Results:1.The result is that5cases are cured,9cases have obvious effect,9cases have effect,7case has no effect, the total effective rate is76.67%after4weeks’treatment. After8weeks, the result changes to8-13-5-4, the total effective rate is88.67%.2. The total score of SPIEGEL before the treatment is18.17±2.03;4and8weeks post treatment, the score is10.97±2.64and8.27±2.36, significantly lower than initial score(P<0.05).3. The total score before and after treatment is20.28±1.01and8.00±1.78with respectively of the patients with kidney yin deficiency, the total effective rate is88.89%(P<0.05).4. The total score before and after treatment is20.75±1.02and8.00±2.74with respectively of the patients with kidney yin deficiency, the total effective rate is83.33%(P<0.05).Conclusion:1. The therapy pressing and kneading on acupuncture points is effective to insomnia of perimenopausal period women.2. The experiment can also improve the clinical symptoms, effective to deficiency of kidney yin and yang.3. By pressing and kneading on acupuncture points before sleeping, the method with no expense cost is easy to master and adhere. Setting prevention and treatment of health in one, the method is worthy clinical extension.
