Background: Atherosclerosis (AS) is a group of hardening of the arteries in the mostimportant common diseases. Heart and cranial vascular diseases can be serious harm tohuman health life. Whatever at home and abroad it has become the leading cause of diseases.The present study showed that the occurrence of atherosclerosis and the development of theimmune inflammation are close related to almost all risk factors. The process ofatherosclerosis and immunological mechanisms are closely linked. Heat shock protein (HSP)60is a group of highly conservative protein. It has now confirmed that HSP60is expressedin AS plaques. Its function is by adjusting the T lymphocyte function, promote the secretionof inflammatory mediators, which have led to the role of the AS. Oral immune tolerance isthrough oral specific antigen, the antigen of immune response is, to other antigen can stillresponse, restrain cells and/or humoral immune. Oral HSP60can induce produce CD4+CD25+regulatory T cells, form the specific immune tolerance, the relevant research showsthat oral tolerance inhibition has just started, it is to prevent and cure atherosclerosis in a newdirection.Objective: To discusses the occurrence of atherosclerosis and development process inthe immunological mechanisms and the relationship with HSP60and atherosclerosis.Through the oral HSP60, forming specific immune tolerance, prevention and treatment ofatherosclerosis, for future clinical atherosclerosis prevention and treatment pointed out thatnew research targets.Methods:8week-old ApoE-/-mice, only14, randomly divided into A group: high fatdiet+saline irrigation stomach; B group: high fat diet+HSP60irrigation stomach group.The two groups were given the diet12weeks.
