In today’s rapid economic and social development, with the emergence of environmental problems, making the comfort of the living environment more and more people pay attention. In recent years, the study of green design and energy-saving design has constantly penetrated into various fields, especially in urban planning and architectural design. Thermal environment of residential areas is an important indicator of the environment of the residential area. Therefore, it is significant to study on it.This article aims at investigating the outdoor thermal environment of the new commercial housing in Beijing residential areas. The investigation tested and analyzed design elements that affect the environment comfort level and then simulated and analyzed the selected thermal environment of the area in which they live through the PHOENICS software. After analyzing and comparing the field measurement results, the article raised a reasonable analysis of the new housing quality of the thermal environment of the area in which they live and put forward the planning and design measures to improve the conditions of new housing in Beijing residential area outdoor thermal environment.The article analyzed the measured data by simulation on the basis of summarizing the document literature related to the environment of the city’s residential areas and summarized some design recommendations to improve outdoor thermal environment. A preliminary conclusion can be drawn that we can change the residential area Green, the layout of the building and the height of the building and other forms of outdoor thermal environment to improve the residential area of new housing.
