Energy saving is an important task of plant production management, and has great significance for reducing production costs, increasing economic benefits and enhancing the enterprise viability. Currently, because of the international financial crisis, power generation enterprises are facing unprecedented challenges, especially in the high coal prices, leading to increased cost of thermal power plants, which also compels us to further strengthen equipment management, speed up energy-saving technological transformation, and reduce coal consumption and electricity costs, thus maximizing the economic efficiency of enterprises."The People’s Republic of China Energy Law" proposes explicitly that the development and promotion of frequency control technology for the power plant are an effective measure for reducing station service power consumption rate and realizing higher efficiency with less energy consumption. In the power plant application, the primary air fan and the condensate pump are the important power equipments for the boiler combustion and water supply, which deviate the economy operating condition in power frequency actual operation and when the unit carries partial loads the deviation is farther, particularly the electric motor electrical energy waste is serious. The frequency control may cause the air fan and the water pump to be at the best operating status, thus raising the operating efficiency greatly and achieving the goal of the energy saving. Through comparison with the industry argument, this thesis puts forward the technology of high-voltage variable frequency transformation used in primary air fan and condensate pump for2x300MW generators in Inner Mongolia Dafanpu power plant. In the implementation process of the transformation, considering various factors such as the site environment and operational requirements, this thesis determines the selection of high-voltage converter and the scheme of variable frequency transformation for the primary air fan and condensate pump. The electrical and thermal logic circuit transformations of high-voltage variable frequency transformation are described, the cost estimation and the energy saving effect of the high-voltage variable frequency transformation is analyzed and calculated, and the existing main problems after the transformation are described too.High-voltage variable frequency transformation for primary air fan and condensate pump has remarkable energy saving effect and gains good economic and social benefits. This high-voltage variable frequency transformation helps to provide and accumulate valuable experiences for the energy-saving transformation of follow-up medium and small-sized equipments of Dafanpu power plant.
