MTT assays is adopted to study of proliferation inhibiting effect of alkyls trimethyl ammonium chloride, double long chain alkyl dimethyl ammonium chloride and alkyls dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride on HeLa cells and CHO cells, and inhibiting effect of alkyls trimethyl ammonium chloride on CCC-ESF-1cells. By researching the proliferation inhibiting effect systemly, the results indicated that the proliferation inhibiting effect of these quaternary-N cationic surfactants on both HeLa cells, CHO cells and CCC-ESF-1cells gradually increased with increasing concentration; As for the same concentration, proliferation inhibiting effect of both these three kinds cationic surfactants increased with the increasing number of carbon. The proliferation inhibiting effect of double long chain alkyl dimethyl ammonium chloride is the strongest, followed by alkyls dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride, and alkyls trimethyl ammonium chloride has the least effect.
