Shihezi Precision Agriculture Development Based On Spatial Information

Shihezi is an important grain and cotton producing area in Xinjiang, is the largest water-saving irrigation demonstration base, high degree of mechanization, land flat, and has been in the cotton planting to harvest during the implementation of a certain level of precision agriculture technology. However, its accuracy still remain in the fertilizer, water, medicines and other inputs, on average, can not be based on small plots (meter-scale, sub-meter) to balance the needs of application variables, resulting in much waste of resources and environmental pollution. Therefore, improving the small plots (meter-scale, sub-meter) within the resource utilization, improve farm income, achieve sustainable development of agriculture, is the Shihezi important issues facing agriculture.Precision Agriculture(PA)is known as precision farming, site—specific farming, information agriculture. On the basis of information technology, it is a new mode of modern agricultural production and management. The concept of PA is the production input of crop according to the management of field units, such as fertilizer, pesticide and seed etc. to decrease waste, promote benefits and protect environment. Therefore, PA is the tendency of agricultural development in the future and the main approach of sustainable development in agriculture.
