Comparative Study On The Transformation Of Foreign Trade Development Pattern Of China

The foreign trade of our country has a fast and sustainable development since reform and opening. It was considered as the accelerator of economic growth and has made outstanding contribution to the accumulation of foreign exchange reserves, employment and so on. Especially after joining WTO, with broader space and more effective conditions, our country became the second trading power. As one of the three most important engines for accelerating economy, the export of merchandises has exceeded Germany and become No.1 in the world for the fist time. Just considering amount and scale, we have become a veritable trading power. However, it should be noted that the rapid development of our foreign trade relies on the traditional growth pattern, problems are as follows: the speed and the benefit uncoordinated; labor and resources intensive products make up a big percentage; high-tech products with small proportion; service trade develops slowly and the friction of export is aggravating etc. If foreign trade develops on the basis of present growth pattern without any change, the domestic resources and environment will be difficult to ensure the sustainable development of our foreign trade. Meanwhile, the financial crisis outbreak in 2008 has made strongly shock on our trade. Therefore, we need to transform the development pattern urgently, achieving the changes of"big power"to"great power"and stimulate the transformation of economic development mode. We can say that the transformation of foreign trade development pattern is not only the internal requirement of the economic development mode shift, but also a fundamental way to achieve the scientific development of foreign trade.This essay especially analyzes the relevant problems about the change of growth pattern of our country's foreign trade and promotes reasonable measures and suggestions. The whole essay is divided into six parts. The first part introduces the background and significance, research present situation both inside and outside and finally points out the study ideal, innovations and shortcomings. The third part describes the content of foreign trade development pattern, the current status of our foreign trade, then summarize the basic characteristics and main issues through the analysis of TC index and RCA index, including the high dependence on trade, service trade develops lag etc. The fourth part discusses the necessity, urgency, and possibility of the change referring to the growth pattern of our country's foreign trade. The fifth part gives the gap between China and the USA and other major developed countries through the comparison. Then refer to their transformation experience of foreign trade development mode. The sixth part shows some polices and advices on how to realize the transformation of foreign trade development pattern.
