With the development of high-speed networks and information technology, with the improvement of people's living standards, the intelligent building can not meet people's needs for intelligent network. The intelligence community and the intelligent home network are becoming more and more important. With the development and wide use of embedded systems, which are sophisticated, flexible, low-cost, high performance and low power consumption, the dependence of the intelligent network nodes on the PC is greatly reduced. In this way, the cost that combing the intelligent network and the home environment has been fundamentally resolved. Home network with wireless sensor network technology use less wires, while traditional home network with more wires which make the room disorderly and confused.This paper presents a concept of a new kind of multimedia wireless sensor network node based on BLACKFIN platform and designs it. ADSP-BF533 is chosen for the hardware platform , on which we run the Bootloader and the uClinux operating system. This new node can complete the formation of a wireless sensor network node, multimedia information collection, compression, network transmission and control tasks.Paper first briefly introduces the development of wireless sensor network and the related technology base, points out that wireless sensor networks, home networking and Bluetooth technology have the possibility of working together; then carries out a plan which is based on ADSP-BF533 platform of hardware and software designing, tests the drivers of various hardware modules; further discusses the Ad-hoc network and Bluetooth, comes out with the Bluetooth socket programming and realization method of AODV routing protocol, the test results prove that the Bluetooth communication module works well and the Ad-hoc network is set up sucessfully; and then gives the module of multimedia processing, and the test results show the the function of the module meets out need .Finally, it is finished with summarizing our work, planning further research and development.
