Objectives:A comprehensive multi-dimensional investigation was put forward to understand medical staffs'health condition, investigate their health related behaviors and analyze their related factors. All data were collected in a tertiary hospital in Yunnan Province to propose some corresponding countermeasures and suggestions. Methods:With the method of cluster sampling, random sampling was adopted by interviewing medical staffs in60different departments of total90departments in a tertiary hospital in Yunnan Province with questionnaire. Database was established by using EpiDate3.0and statistical analysis based on SPSS17.0packages. Data was analyzed by methods which were named descriptive statistical analysis, chi-square test and correlation analysis. Finally we discuss the factors which correlated with health condition and health related behaviors of medical staffs. Results:By interviewing and analyzing medical personals'health condition, health related behaviors and their related factors, some figures were demonstrated as follows:32.8percent of medical staffs who were interviewed were in poor health.90percent of the respondents went to work with illness last year, more than half of them had physical and mental exhaustion problem.84.3percent staffs had the irregular diet.74.1percent of the staffs didn't have fixed nap because of some working reasons.29%of the staffs had poor quality of sleep.52%of male medical workers smoke. Only7.8%of medical workers exercised regularly and more than half of them had the habit of urine to suppress. The averaged working time of82.5percent of interviewed staffs was more than eight hours,67.2percent of them experienced working continuously24hours or more, and most of their weekends were cancelled.85.3percent of people who were surveyed deemed that they were facing huge or very great pressures.77.9percent of staffs wished to obtain chances to change their jobs. We conclude that healthy conditions were related with working years and working time frequency; sleep quality was correlated with gender, working experience, average working time and frequency of night shift; the pressure of medical workers who had different gender, working experience, working time, departments and clinical departments was different; health condition had correlation with physical exercise, sleep and pressure; physical fatigue was also correlated with sleep and physical exercise; drinking and smoking had a close relationship, the same as smoking and sleep; sleep, physical exercise and intention to change jobs had relation with sleep; the pressure of work had positive correlation with intention to change jobs. Conclusion:The health conditions of medical workers are not optimistic, and their behaviors, which are correlated with health, must be improved urgently. The overloaded working status of medical staffs is a concern, and most of them have a huge pressure in routine work. The top five forms of working pressure are practicing risk pressure, unpleasant salary pressure, media and environment pressure, professional assessment pressure and family pressure, respectively.77.9%percent of medical staffs strongly intend to quit their jobs. Hospitals should attach importance to the physical and mental health of employees, promote humanized management, increase medical personals, lift up staff salary and protect safety of them. The public should also understand and support medical personals.
