Investigation And Analysis Of The Clinical Practice Ability Among On-the-job Nursing Staffs

Objective:Nursing is a career with strong practicality.The level of clinical practice ability among on-the-job nursing staffs effects the quality of nurse. To investigate the status and demands of the development of clinical practice ability among on-the-job nursing staffs, in order to provide effective reference for making training plan for nurses。Methords:Two questionnaires were designed by refering a lot of literature data:The Self-rating Questionnaire and The Questionnaire on the Clinical Practice Ability among on-the-job Nursing Staffs. The questionnaire on the clinical practice ability among on-the-job nursing staffs was reveiewed by eight nursing specialists, and pre-investigated by sixty-eight on-the-job nursing staffs. All data obtained were statistically analyzed by software package SPSS 16.0. Cronbach's a and pearson coefficient were used to assess the reliability and validity of the questionnaire on the clinical practice ability. The applicability of the questionnaire on the clinical practice ability would be determined by these Convenient sampling method was used to collect three hundred and twenty nures(all women) from eight hospitals(four tertiary hospital; four secondary hospital) in Shandong province. All effective data obtained were put into software package excell to establish database.,and statistically analyzed by Software package SPSS 17.0.The statistical description included frequency, constituent ratio,mean number±standard deviation. The statistical adjustment included X2 test, one-way Anova,U test,Cruskal-Wallis.Results:1 The tatol level of clinical practice ability among on-the-job nursing staffs was good(80.71-84.49).There was statistical significance among different working-years, educational-background, duty, organizational-affiliation and career-choice (P<0.01).The working years were more longer and the clinical practice ability was more stronger.The clinical practice abilities were much stronger among head-nurse,item-at-hand and Voluntary-Choice.There was statistical significance among different educational-background (P<0.05),the educational-background was more higher and the clinical practice ability was more stronger.2 The on-the-job nursing staffs had been conscious to the importance of the development of clinical practice ability,64.8% and 33.2% of on-the-job nursing staff thought it was very or more important to improve the clinical practice ability. By X2-test, There was no statistical significance among different working-years,organization-affilition duty (P>0.05). There was statistical significance among different educational-background (P<0.05), the nurses who are college education had paid much more attention to the development of clinical practice ability (P<0.05,70.3%). There was statistical significance among different career-choice,the nurse who had selected nursing had paid much more attention to the development of clinical practice ability (P< 0.01,67.1%). 3 The on-the-job nursing staffs hoped to develope the clinical practice ability. The most popular education method was special- subject-training. The more popular education methods were short-term-incumbency-training,the advanced studise from esternal hospital. The internal causes which efected the clinical practice ability were practical-motivation, working-years,educational-back-ground and career-choice; The outernal causes were the-bad-intern-ational-relationships,the low-social-status,the low-income and the more-working.Conclusion:The tatol level of clinical practice ability among on-the-job nursing staffs was good,but There was statistical significance among different working-years, educational-background, duty, organizational-affiliation and career-choice.Because the development was unbalanced,the development was essential. The different education methods should be adopted to develope clinical practice ability,in order to improve the qualities of nurses,and improve the development of nursing.
