The health care industry is an important event which concerns the national economy and the people's livelihood. China's health institutions have begun the "marketing" reform since the 1980's. And the private capital gradually gained the access to the market of medical services, then gradually the private medical institution came into being. From "mandate" to "the acquisition of zero assets", with the relaxation of restrictions about the medical market of our country, the private capital is on the road which is being broadened of the medical market, and it is reasonable for the jitter of private capital. Private medical institutions gradually become a makeup of national medical service system, which supply medical service of different levels catering for various demands of consumers. The national health care system started up the new medical reform in 2006, and it propounded that the private medical institution will be more important in our national health care system in the immediate future. The government should create a fair policy environment for the private medical institutions, encourage private capital into the medical market and promote the healthy development of the private medical institutions, which can create competitive environment and improve the operating efficiency of the health care system.The objective of this paper is to know the basic characteristics of medical and health service with the current development status of the private medical institutions in China, and analyze the main problems and causes that the medical institutions are facing, to put forward the countermeasures and suggestions of the private medical institutions. Meanwhile, on account of the development actuality, characteristics and problems of the private medical institutions on chengdu, it proposes the feasibility suggestions of the healthy development of private medical institutions of chengdu.First of all, based on the theory of public goods, this paper expatiats the nature of medical health products and services. At the same time, it defines the private medical institutions on the basis of the comprehensive study of existing literatures.Secondly, this paper retrospects briefly the achievements of the private medical institutions, focuses on the overall situation of the private medical institutions, the main characteristics and existing problems in China. Facing with the various contradictions between the huge medical market and the deficiency of the medical supply, the variety of medical needs and the people's basic medical service, the key new cure is to vigorously develop the private medical institutions. On this basis, this paper puts forward suggestions on the cognition, system and resource allocation, doctors practice patterns, medical billing way etc of the private medical institutions.Finally, taking Chengdu as the example, it analyses the status quo, characteristics and the primal problems about private medical institutions after the overview in Chengdu, and gives some advice about the further development of the private medical institutions in Chengdu. Then, this research paper is expected to be helpful for the improvement of marketing practice in private medical institutions and be illuminating to broaden the application of medical marketing theories in the future.
