Health Effects From Exposure To Operation Rooms With Different Purification Devices

ObjectiveThis study was to investigate the health status of the hospital operating room staff in one third-level general hospital in Changchun to find the risk factors that impact the hospital operating room staff′s health.MethodsSurvey questionnaires were used, and investigators were trained by professionals before the survey, the training content was how to complete the questionnaires. Each study subject should be investigated and fill out the survey questionnaires. After finishing all the surveys, data was checked by trained personnel, two people both are processing data to ensure data accuracy. Statistics Method Building a database using SPSS13.0, SPSS13.0 was used to analyze the data. Count data was analyzed byχ2 test, P<0.05 was considered statistically significant.Results120 hospital staffs were studied, 48 men were investigated, accounted for 40% of the total number, 72 women were investigated, accounted for 60% of the total number. 20-30 aged persons were accounted for 50% of the total number, 30-40 aged persons were accounted for 37.5% of the total number and 40-50 aged persons were accounted for 12.5% of the total number. 32.5% of the total number worked in the outpatient operating room, and the rest worked in the large operating room. In our survey, 77.5% investigators working in the operating room will be discomfort and the discomfort symptoms included chest tightness, eye astringent, dizziness, headache, nausea, pungent, fatigue and so on. When the staffs feel unwell, 83.9% of those will affect theirs work. The relief modes were used, when the staffs feel unwell. The relief methods include five types, which is short sleep, oxygen, breathing fresh air, away from the environment and drug treatment and the most used way of relief is to ease the breath of fresh air.Conclusion: The health status of operating room staffs are influenced by the operating room environment. The staffs working in the operating room which has installed Laminar flow purification feel better than that working in uninstalled Laminar flow purification operating room. The chances of feeling uncomfortable among doctors and nurses working operating room will increase when they are exposed to more than one sterilizing or anesthesizing gas.
