Clinical Observation On Treatment Of Aphasia Due To Stroke With Invigorating The Kidney And Dispersion Blood Stasis

Stroke is one of familiar diseases in our country, with the characteristics of high morbidity, high mortality, and high recurrence. Aphasia due to stroke is caused by organic pathological changes in special area of cerebrum due to Cerebrouascular disease(CVD). Aphasis caused by the disease,coma,hemiplegia,deviation of the eye and mouth,dysphagia,are known as the five main symptoms of apoplexy. Apoplexy belongs to category in Chinese medicine,which deficiency in origin and excess in superficiality,the former caused by deficiency of liver-yin and kindey-yin,deficiency of qi and blood,the latter by wind,fire,phlegm and stasis,both reinforcing each other, convering into each other. Upword 1/3 patient after CVD has aphasis at different levels in our country. Aphasia after stroke can affect the exchange of patients and results from psychological burden to patients.Objective:Clinical observation on treatmeat of aphasia due to stroke with the acupuncture invigorating the kidney and dispersion blood stasis mothod. Methods:In accordance wit the diagnostic criteria established in the fourth nationwide aeademic congress of CVD in 1995,60 cases of aphasia due to stroke were enrollde into the research,coming from the acupuncture inpatient or outpatient department of Chinese medicine hospital in Hubei province, covering the groups adopted the invigorating the kidney and dispersion blood stasis with Acupuncture (treatment group) and Common acupoints with acupuncture (control group) with 30 cases in each group, and the randomized approach and comparative approach had been employed in the clinical research.Standardized Aphasia Bettery of Chinese (ABC) was used to examined 60 cases of aphasis to assess the aphasia quocient (AQ),the Chinese functional communication (CFCP),Boston diagnostic aphasia examination(BDAE).Main points of Treatment group:Taixi,Yingu; coordination of acupoints:Baihui, Yamen, Lianquan, Quchi, Neiguan, Hegu, Fenglong, Xuehai, Zusanli, Taichong Sanyinjiao.Control group is the same as treatment group with the exception of the main points.Results:1. There is comparability between the two groups verified by t-test.2. After treatment,four language features of spontaneous conversation,understanding,restating and naming,including the amount of infoumation, fluency, repeating,word naming, color naming,reaction naming, auditoryn discrimination,verbal instruction, all the above in treatment group were singnificantly improved compared to control group(p<0.05). 2. Clinical Evaluation:The total effective rate in the treatment group was 90.0%,which was superior to that of control group (p<0.05).Conclusion:Both groups were effective in treating patients of clinical observation and acupuncture invigorating the kidney and dispersion blood stasis is superior.
