Objective In the basis of literature research and the theoretical analysis, this research try to sum up the problem before, during and after the teaching evaluation work of our college. Then combing with the particularity of medical education, medical teaching and so on, to analyze the special and complex place of teaching evaluation of the medical college's teachers. Next, we have demonstrate these problems through the dates of the field survey of one medical college of Wuhan. Finally, we put forward some targeted suggestions for improving the quality of teaching evaluation of the medical college's teachers.Methods Through theoretical analysis and questionnaire survey, analyzing the problem of the teaching evaluation of our university and putting forward some suggestions for improving the quality of the evaluation by applying the theories and methods of management, biostatistics and so on. The main methods include literature study, personal interviews, questionnaire survey and biostatistics, such as descriptive statistics for the results of these collected data.Results Firstly, through literature research and interview material we found all kinds of problems that affected the quality of teaching evaluation from three points. The problem before the evaluation work began: the person and the organization for the evaluation work have not get effective guarantee; matching funds and equipments have not get effective supply; the personalized of index is lack, the representativeness is insufficient, the using is limited and so on; the method of evaluation also have some problems, such as give priority to"others evaluation", ignore "self assessment", and the using of methods is messy; the value orientation of evaluation is offset and so on. The problem during the evaluation work carried out: the implementation of evaluation and the setup program is biased; the explain to some evaluation indexes and program is lack; the process to avoid the influence of external factors is effective. The problem after the evaluation work over: it don't check the authenticity of the evaluation results; the announcement to the result of evaluation is inadequate and the way needs to be improved; the use of the evaluation results are insufficient.Secondly, according to the results of the survey we find that the awareness rate of students and teachers to the evaluation is 90.07% and 96%, to the five teaching assessment forms is 7.53% and 22%, to the each project of the evaluation system is not very good, only about 3 points while the best mark is one point, only 44.12% teachers know their results of the evaluation. The satisfaction of students and teachers to each project of the evaluation system and the system are not very high, only about 3 points while the best mark is one point. The satisfaction of the teachers of the second clinical college to the evaluation is good, the marks is 1.99, because they valve the evaluation work. 90.75% of the students and 92% of the teachers accept the positive effect of the teaching evaluation.Conclusion In order to ensure and promote the quality of the evaluation pertinently, we should do these work better:Firstly, do the preparation work better before the evaluation work began: building the shared vision of accepting teaching evaluation purpose; carrying out publicity activities about teaching evaluation content; making targeted teaching evaluation index system; founding independent teaching evaluation organization and making its responsibilities clear; strengthening the attention school leaderships to teaching evaluation.Secondly, do the guarantee measures better during the evaluation work carried out: catching the implementation of teaching evaluation; using multiple teaching evaluation methods; adopting some new teaching evaluation technology ways.Thirdly, pay more attention to the detail work after the end of the evaluation work: paying attention to the re-assessment of the result of teaching evaluation; making the teaching evaluation process transparent; looking at the teaching evaluation score correctly; utilizing the evaluation results reasonably.
