The Clinical Significance Of Plasma Tumor Type M2 Pyruvate Kinase Level In Patients With Lung Cancer

Objective: To analyze level of tumor M2-PK [including the plasma,pleural and broncho-alveolar fluid BALF level] in patient with lung cancer in order to provide basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment.Methods: Plasma Tumor M2-PK(with ELISA),CEA and NSE were determined in 45 health controls,60 benign lung disease patients and 62 lung cancer patients.Meanwhile pleural and BALF Tumor M2-PK were determined in some of them.Result: The plasma levelof tumor M2-PK were significantly higher in lung cancer than that in benign lung disease and in health controls(p<0.05).The positive rate of Tumor M2-PK in the stageâ…¢or IV(70.0%)were higher than that of the stage I orâ…¡(41.7%,P<0.05).The plasma M2-PK level were not related to the pathology of lung cancer . The pleural M2-PK level were signifi-cantly higher in lung cancer than that in benign lung disease (p<0.05).The plasma M2-PK level were in correspondence with the pleural M2-PK level.The variety of plasma M2-PK level respond the chemotherapy effect and were helpful to evaluate treatment response.The diagnostic sensitivity and specificy of Tumor M2-PK were 64.5%and 93.3%. The diagnostic sensitivity and specificv of Tumor M2-PK combined with CEA were 82.3%and 93.3%. The diagnostic sensitivity and spe-cificy of Tumor M2-PK combined with NSE were 74.2% and 91.7%.The diagnostic sensitivity and specificy of combined with Tumor M2-PK,CEA and NSE were 87.0% and 86.7%.Conclusion : The tumor M2-PK as a new tumormarker is of great clinical vlaue for the diagnosis of lung cancer.
