Tailings dam is a artificially builded complex system,it is a very important production facility among mine equipment which is used to storage tailings,wether it can effective running has directly relationship with around people's safe and environment.So we should especially pay more attention to strengthen the safety and management of tailings dam to ensure the Sustainable Development of mine's production, we should pay more attention to strengthen the safety and management of tailing pond, especially the stability of the tailing dam.This thesis on yunnan yuntianhua international chemical Co., LTD. Red phosphorus branch new phosphorous gesso slag field as an example, combined with its exploration material basis and examined a number of literature, according to the basic principle and method of finite element, the use of ANSYS software, mechanical stability is analyzed on the dam status, this paper focuses on arch dam being applied to tailings dam, through a series of theoretical calculation to determined the arch ring and the center Angle of the proposed arch dam, establish the three-dimensional finite element model and make the simulation analysis.The stability of tailings dam status of 2D analysis including static stability analysis and seepage stability analysis, According to seepage field and temperature field equations and boundary conditions of similarity, using the finite element analysis software ANSYS parametric design language (APDL) prepared by the dam seepage field analysis,and on this basis, the role of the soil surface pressure converted to the equivalent volume force, loaded into a finite element model for structural analysis, to achieve the seepage field and stress field analysis of the indirect coupling, find out the displacement field and stress field. Using strength reduction finite element stability analysis to find the dam's safety factor.The 3D static stability analysis results of the present situation and proposed arch tailings dam show that the safety factor of the 3D static analysis is bigger than the safety factor of the 2D static analysis. And the safety factor of the proposed arch dam is bigger than the safety factor of the 3D static analysis. Through the research shows that: arch dam construction for tailings dam can get better economic benefits and safety benefit, in theory proved the proposed to build the dam has certain vaulted initial feasibility and application value.
