The stability of the dam with the fine-grained tailings is one of the most difficult problems of tailings disposal.As the permeability of the dam with the fine-grained tailings is bad, the density of tailings is small, taking the storage capacity is big, solidifying is slow, which cause the saturation line of the tailings dam to elevate and the shearing strength being low, lead to the stability of the tailings dam reducing.So,it is very important to study on the problem of the permeability of the fine-grained tailings and control the saturation line of the dam body.From the Percolation theory, elaborate the finite element analysis of seepage and the basic principles of finite element analysis of seepage problems step and formula.According to seepage field and temperature field equations and boundary conditions of similarity, using the finite element analysis software ANSYS parametric design language (APDL) Seepage analysis program prepared by the dam seepage field analysis and calculation to determine the wetting line position, and the results and GEO_SEEP/W calculation results were compared, both was to verify the thermal analysis of ANSYS capabilities for solving seepage problems correct and practical.Secondly, the seepage field in Dahongshan Longdu tailings dam of Yunnan Province is simulated, Permeability coefficient of each layer from the tailings dam in the ratio, the ratio of horizontal and vertical permeability, the length of the dam dry beach and other factors on the impact of tailings dam seepage line made a certain degree of qualitative and quantitative analysis.In the seepage field on the analysis, the role of the surface of the soil surface pressure converted to the equivalent volume force, loaded into a finite element model for structural analysis, to achieve the seepage field and stress field analysis of the indirect coupling. Strength reduction finite element stability analysis of the tailings dam, tailings dam obtained the displacement field and stress field, and then find the dam's safety factor, the stability analysis of tailings dam and tailings dam construction provide a reliable basis for management.
