Antenna array is the hard core of phased array radar, which is used for realizing electromagnetism performance index. The antenna cabin is the most complicated structure part of the whole radar, which installed large numbers of electric equipment: microware network, T/R module, cooling-equipment and so on. Phased array antenna structure design should consider equipments' layout, installed, cooled and cable layout besides filling the requirement of rigidity and intensity, so it is one systems engineering.This thesis deals with the problem of developing the solid-state active phased array radar which is a advanced military electronic equipment developed by 14th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group Corporation. Instead of traditional methods, several advanced tools was used, such as Pro/E, ANSYS etc. It is focused on the progress of developing and contains the following contents: Firstly, according to the requirement we made a primary framework of the antenna cabin in which the shape and size of each components of the system was determined. Based on this framework a 3D model was built in Pro/E environment. Secondly, based on the primary design we developed FEA model for cared components in Ansys environment in which we can analyze the stress of major parts of the system in different working conditions and find the unsafe part. With the result of analysis we optimized the key parameter and improve the structure of the system. Thirdly, the antenna array's cooling method was ensured according as quantity and distributing of heat. The parameters of winding path were ensured through theoretic analysis. Finally, aiming at seals' demand and point of the antenna array, some idiographic methods was adopted, which have proved doable and effective in practice.Thus the aim of this thesis to build a more efficient framework to design a phased array antenna is achieved.
