Nowadays the telecommunication technology is the very important portion in the circuit design region. The telecommunication industry becomes the fastest growth region of the world. The power line communication technology has been widely used in the electric power system; especially many utilizing on low voltage power line communication has been proved very practical in the household lives.Street lighting system is the necessary infrastructure in the city. The requirement of the street lighting system is higher and higher. Keeping the quality of lighting system, finding and solving the problem of lamp in time is the basic requirement, it is very important to keep the safety of civilization and traffic, also will improve the social order. Thus the high efficiency, fast reaction, Accuracy Street light monitoring and controlling system is necessary. This paper discuss about a street light monitoring and controlling system designed with new coming power line communication technology.This system base on power line communication chip STALON3000A which manufactured by STA company in Australian.Chapter 1 introduces the background of the project, and about the present situation of research and study in power line communication technique.Chapter 2 describes the solution of the whole system; introduce the pipeline communication technique we used in the system. The major chip STALON3000A, LONworks protocol .Also the general feature of the street light control module.Chapter 3 describes pipeline communication circuit which should be most important portion of the module, Include choose the system solution, circuit design, selection of the chip.Chapter 4 describes the circuit design in details, include principle of the circuit, circuit design, parameter of circuit calculation.Chapter 5 describes the test procedure of the laboratory and in field. The result of the test shows the feature of the prototype module meet the system requirement.Chapter 6 is a summary of this paper.
