Now many flat-panel TV (above 30 inch) are makeup with TV-box and LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) monitor. All sources signal input TV-box and its output is TTL signal through inside process. TTL signal is transmitted to LCD monitor for display by various transmission methods. A HDCP (high-bandwidth digital content protection) technology is designed to the task for digital signal transmission in the LCD TV.The task adopts a solution that is the combination of DVI(digital video interface) and HDCP. There are two important Integrated circuit named SiI170 and Sii169 in the solution. The output of TV-box and input of LCD monitor are both DVI which is standard interface, the connection between them is the standard DVI line. The TTL output signal is encoded to TMDS (transition minimized differential signal) and is transmitted to receiver. HDCP is designed to protect the video transmission between a DVI video transmitter and a DVI video receiver powerfully. The HDCP Authentication protocol is a key exchange between a video transmitter and a video receiver, it affirms to the transmitter that the receiver is authorized to receive the protected information. If authentication is successful, LCD TV system will allow transmitter to output and the receiver decrypts the video signal normally. And the video transmitter verifies the link integrity to insure that the video receiver is still able to correctly decrypt the information. This verification is made at the rate of once every two seconds, plus or minus one-half second. The paper illuminates the contents including DVI standard, HDCP technology, hardware and software design, DVI-HDCP performance test.HDCP involves using technological and legal mechanisms to ensure that the transmitting video signal is security and to prevent copying or recording without permit. It protects the copyright and benefit of content provider.
