Information hiding has become a hotspot in recent years. The purpose of information hiding is to cloak the fact of the existence of information, that is, to make the attacker not knowing where the secret information exists. What information hiding is prior to encryption is that information hiding causes much less attention of attackers and decreases the probability of being attacked. Encryption transforms information into random sequences and causes the attention of attackers. Information hiding is used for covert communication, and it must have large capacity and high transparency. This paper presents a novel technique for the digital water-marking of still images based on the concept of multi-resolution wavelet fusion. The source images is decomposed by wavelet transform. The watermark with copyright information is scrambled by a pseudo-random sequence generated. Then the watermarking image is embedded into carrier image. The algorithm is robust to a variety of signal distortions. The original unmarked images is not required for watermark extraction.
