The relationship between media and society remains a hot-spot issue in journalism and communication research. Such elements as politics, economic and cultural, play a key role on the springing, flourishing and development of media. And the political system, economy and culture motion, are also profoundly effected by the media. Nowadays, China is processing a transforming era, culture—especially the popular culture is reflecting the features of the transforming society, just like a mirror. Meanwhile, as popular culture relies on the technology, such achievement of media's reflection is reached by the means of popular media on the root, and at the same time, popular culture is coined with the features of the popular media, or in some researchers' word—"mediumlization". The essay makes an analysis on the media's influences on the popular culture, and the causes of "mediumlization" and its effect on both advantages and disadvantages, trying to dig out the inner relationship between mass media and popular culture. In the essay, plenty of advice on the construct of cultural system and advanced culture are listed and analyzed.
