| ObjectiveThe present trial was designed to analyze the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) syndrome feature in essential hypertension(EH) patients suffering from depression, and the dependablity between blood pressure(BP) condition, depression drgree and the TCM syndrome.MethodsThe Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)was used to score the 395 EH patients, the results were transformed to standard score.Patients with over 50 standard score divided into EH with Depression group, the other into control group.Consulted with《GUIDELINE ON new drugs of traditional Chinese medicine》and《traditional Chinese medicine clinical diagnose and treat terms》to extract the TCM syndrome. Use SPSS 11.0 software to analyze the regularity and feature of TCM syndrome, the relationship between depression drgree and the TCM syndrome in EH patients suffering from depression.Results1.20 kinds TCM syndrome were extracted from 395 EH patients, the number was 989.19 kinds TCM syndrome(402) were observes in 127 EH patients suffering from depression, the frequency from top 9 was blood stasis, flame, qi stagntion, turbid damp, blood deficiency,qi deficiency phlegm, yin asthenia, yang asthenia.18 kinds TCM syndrome(587) were observes in 268 EH patients, the frequency from top 9 was flame, turbid damp, yin asthenia, yang asthenia, qi stagntion, blood stasis, phlegm, qi deficiency blood deficiency. There were statistical significance between groups in blood stasis, flame, qi stagntion, turbid damp, blood deficiency, yang asthenia.2.Results from BP control in 395 EH patients showed that 238 patients with better control(60.25%).there were 70 patients with better BP control(55.12%) in 127 EH patients suffering from depression,82 patients with better BP control (69.40%) in 186 EH patients in control group. The control rate in control group was higher than in 127 EH patients suffering from depression. In 127 EH patients suffering from depression, there were averaged 3.07 TCM syndrome in BP uncontrolled case, higher than in BP controlled case(2.6).In 268 EH patients in control group, there were averaged 2.01 TCM syndrome in BP uncontrolled case, higher than in BP controlled case(1.72). Results from the TCM syndrome constituent ratio showed that blood stasis was the most in BP controlled cases(24.57%) and in BP uncontrolled case(23.66%).In the control group, flame and turbid damp was the most in BP controlled cases(24.57%) and in BP uncontrolled case (23.66%).3.Results from depression drgree and TCM syndrome showed the light, middle, heavy depression patients were 40,69,18.the propotional TCM syndrome were 95(averaged 2.38),202(averaged 2.93),64(averaged 3.56),there was significant difference between groups.TCM syndrome constituent ratio results showed blood stasis was the most in light(25.26%),middle(21.78%),heavy(21.84%) depression patients. In light depression patients, blood stasis, flame,qi stagntion, phlegm, qi deficiency were the frequently TCM syndrome. In middle depression patients, blood stasis,qi stagntion, flame, phlegm, blood deficiency were the frequently TCM syndrome. In heavy depression patients, blood stasis, qi stagntion, phlegm, flame, blood deficiency were the frequently TCM syndrome.4. Results from depression drgree and BP control showed the light, middle, heavy depression patients were 6,36,15 in uncontrolled patients, middle and heavy depression patients account to 89.47%. in better BP control patients, the light, middle, heavy depression patients were34, 33,3,middle and heavy depression patients account to 51.42%. Depression drgree was significant difference between better BP controlled patients and:BP uncontrolled patients.5. The TCM pattern of syndrome in 127 EH patients suffering from depression was qi stagntion and blood stasis, Over abundant Liver-Fire syndrome, asthenic yin causing predominant yang, Phlegm-damp Retention, deficiency of both yin and yang, deficiency of both qi and blood. Qi stagntion and blood stasis(37.85%)and Over abundant Liver-Fire syndrome(31.18%) were the most com mon TCM pattern of syndrome. In the control group, the TCM pattern of syndrome was Over abundant Liver-Fire syndrome, asthenic yin causing predominant yang,Phlegm-damp Retention, deficiency of both yin and yang.Over abundant Liver-Fire syndrome(27.24%) and asthenic yin causing predominant yang(18.28%) were the most com mon TCM pattern of syndrome.Qi stagntion and blood stasis was significant higher in EH patients suffering from depression than in control group patients.Conclusion1.Variety kinds TCM syndrome exist in EH patients suffering from depression, as blood stasis, flame, qi stagntion, turbid damp, blood deficiency, qi deficiency, phlegm, yin asthenia, yang asthenia were the majority, espcially blood stasis. In control group, flame, turbid damp, yin asthenia, yang asthenia, qi stagntion, blood stasis, phlegm, qi deficiency blood deficiency, were the majority, espcially flame.2. The better BP control rate in control group was higher than in EH patients suffering from depression. In EH patients suffering from depression, averaged TCM syndrome in BP uncontrolled case, higher than in BP controlled case. Results from the TCM syndrome constituent ratio showed that blood stasis was the most in EH patients suffering from depression.3.Heavy depression degree correlated with more TCM syndromes.Blood stasis was the most TCM syndromes in EH patients suffering from depression.4.Heavy depression degree correlated with bad BP control, middle and heavy depression were higher in BP uncontrolled patients.5.Qi stagntion and blood stasis was significant higher in EH patients suffering from depression than in control group patients. |
