Liver Qi Meridians Of Chinese Medicine With The Clinical Study Of Physiotherapy Treatment Of Breast Cancer After Upper Extremity Lymphedema

Objective:To observe the therapeutic effect of physiotherapy plus TCM Shugan Tongluo Tang in the treatment of patients with upper limb lymphedema after mastectomy.Methods:80 breast cancer patients matched with the inclusion criteria were allocated randomly into two groups.They are physiotherapy and physiotherapy plus TCM respectively.Patients in the physiotherapy group were given treatment of booster pump.Patients in physiotherapy plus TCM group were given not only the treatment of booster pump,but also the Shugan Tongluo Tang twice a day.Four weeks were taken as a period of treatment for the above two groups.The therapeutica effects were evaluated after one period of treatment,and the quality of life,the change of the Qizhi Xueyu symptoms and the side effects were compared between the two groups.Results:At the end of the treatment,there were 38 valid cases in physiotherapy plus TCM group which can be calculated,,and 37 valid cases in physiotherapy group.The results showed that:①Effect evaluation:After treatment,the physiotherapy plus Shugan Tongluo Tang group in the efficient rate was higher than the physiotherapy group(A group efficient rate:92.11%and B group efficient rate:72.97%,P＜0.05).②Quality of life:After treatment,KPS in the physiotherapy plus Shugan Tongluo Tang group improved obviously than before,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).However,in the physiotherapy group there was no significant statistical change(P＞0.05).The symptoms improvement rate was 42.11%and 8.11% respectively.For the physiotherapy plus TCM treatment and physiotherapy group,the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).③Symptomatic improvement:Before treatment,there was no significant statistical difference in Qizhi Xueyu symptom rate between the two groups.After treatment,in the treatment group the Qizhi Xueyu symptom rate was obviously lower than before, and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).In the physiotherapy group, there was no significant statistical change(P＞0.05),and the symptoms improvement rate was 73.68%and 0 respectively.While in the physiotherapy plus Shugan Tongluo Tang group,the symptoms improvement rate was obviously higher than the other group,and the difference was very statistically significant(P＜0.01).From this study we also found that the symptoms in the physiotherapy plus Shugan Tongluo Tang group had improved markedly,including donowaki distension,depression or irritability,dark purple tongue,pulse string,etc.④Toxic and adverse effect:in both groups,there was no obvious change in hemogram,hepatic and renal function,ECG,the blood flow in affected upper limb and so on between pre-treatment and after treatment.Conclusion:In the treatment of upper limb lymphedema after mastectomy,the remedy of physiotherapy plus Shugan Tongluo Tang could enhance to curative effect, effectively meliorate the Qizhi Xueyu TCM symptom,improve the life quality,the remedy is safe and effective,and it has no toxic and adverse effect.
