Mistletoe Medicine Quality Standards

Hujisheng, the herba of Viseum coloratum (komar,)Nakai, is a well-known traditionalchinese medicine and recorded in th pharmacopocia of P.R..China. It is used in manytraditional Chinese prescriptions for resisting cardiac dysrhythmia and rheumaticarthralgia. We investigated flavanoids of the leafs with sterms of Viscumcoloratum(Kom.)Nakat., Two flavanoids were isolated by using open-column(silica gel,macroreticular resin) methods et al. their structure were elucidated as naringenin7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(compoundâ… ) and naringenin 7-O- apiofuranosyl (1→2)-β-D-glucopyranoside (compoundâ…¡) by 1H-NMR,13C-NMR techniques, the purity ofthese were 100% and 99.44 % respectively.Method was established for the determination of compoundâ… andâ…¡in Viseumcoloratum. The optimal conditions of separation and detection were achieved on aC₁₈ analytical column with an isocratic mobile phase consisting of methanol-1%glacial acetic acid (35:65)and acetonitrile-water (20:80) respectively at theflow-rate of 1 mL/min, the temperature for the column was set at 25℃. Thecalibration curves for compoundâ… andâ…¡were linear over the range of 0.72-1.44μg and 1.8-4.2μg respectively. The recoveries were 98.90% and 99.19% withRSD 2.59% and 2.96% (n=5), respectively. According to the contents ofcompoundâ… andâ…¡of the 10 samples in the market, the content limits weredrafted.The devdoped method is simple, rapid, and can be used to estimate thequality. The results provid the basis for the improvement of quality standard aboutViseum coloratum herba visci in Chinese Pharmacopoeia.
