To estimate the clinical effect of Pen-Qiang-Yan Granule on the treatment of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease ( damp and hot silt type ) and its safty. And to provide a convient, safty and effective Chinese medicine for the patient. [Methods]The research method of random double bl ind and parallei contrast were used. 120 cases chronic pelvic inflammatory disease were chosen, they were divided randomly into Pen-Qiang-Yan Granule treatment group(n=90) and Fu-Yan-Kang-Fu Granule group (n=30). The symptoms signs and ultrasound-B's examination of patients treated with Pen-Qiang-Yan Granule were compared to patients treated with Fu-Yan-Kang-Fu Granule after two courses of treatment. Observe the patient's side effect to medicine and measure the patients' blood, urinary routine test, liver and kidney function at pre-treatment and post-treatment respectively. [Result]Clinical effect: the effective rates of treatment group's symptoms and control group's are 90.1%, 92.3% respectively , with no difference between them (P>0.05).The effective rates of signs are 70. 00%, 73. 33% respectively,with no difference between them(P>0.05). The two groups' total effective rates are 100%, 96.6% respectively, with no difference between them (P>0.05).Safty analysis: examination results of blood, urine,liver and kidney function before and after treatment are normal. No s ide effect was found.It indicates that Pen-Qiang-Yan Granule has no harmful reaction,and it is safe in the course of clinical application. [Conc1usion]Pen-Qiang-Yan Granule is effective and safe in the treatment of chronic pelvic inflammatory disease.It is worth further researching and widely using on clinic.
