Yiqihuoxue Medicine With Chemotherapy In Advanced Colorectal Cancer Clinical Studies

Objective: To observe the therapeutic effect of Chemo. plus TCM Sheng Xue Tang Jia Wei in the Treatment of advanced colorectal cancer.Methods: 80 colorectal cancer patients in the stage of III or IV were allocated randomly into two groups, they are Chemo. and Chemo plus TCM respectively. Patients in Chemo. plus TCM group were given Jia Wei Sheng Xue Tang, once a day.and OLF treatment. Patients in the Chemo. group were given OLF treatment. Three weeks as one cycle, and three cycles as one period of treatment for above both groups. After 3 periods of treatment, the change of symptoms, quality of life, size of tumor and side effects were compared between two groups.The results: The stable rates in Chemo. plus TCM and Chemo. groups were 83.33% and 62.16% respectively. The effective rates in each group were 25.00% and 19.44% respectively. The effect rate in Chemo. plus TCM was higher than that of Chemo.. However, the difference between them was not remarkable (P>0.05). In the other hand, the stable rate in Chemo. was lower than that of Chemo. plus TCM. The difference was distinct(P<0.05). Compare the observation of related toxic side effect, the result of the reducing of neutrophilic granulocyte, toxic of never system, and response of alimentary canal in Chemo. plus TCM group was better than that of Chemo. group. The difference is remarkable(P<0.01). There is no big difference in the result of haematochrome, haematoblast and toxic of live and kidney. Before the Treatment, there is no big difference between two groups in score of Qi Xu Xue Yu symptom. After the Treatment, the score for Chemo. plus TCM group was lower obviously(P<0.05). The score for Chemo. group was just higher than before without statistics difference. The evaluating rates for two groups were 72.22% and 24.32% respectively. It shows that the result in group Chemo. plus TCM was better than that of Chemo. group with P<0.01. As to the improvement of life quality, the KPS was a little bit higher than before The Treatment in Chemo. plus TCM group, a little big lower in Chemo. group.
