| Dream theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) is a vital part of TCM. TCM's studies on dreams have lasted for thousands years since the occurrence of written records. In this long history, the people of our country and experts on TCM in the past dynasties have improved the cognition of dream theory gradually, accumulated so many experiences of prevention and treatment related to the dream diseases and also, invented some medicines and decoctions which are used in curing dream diseases. All of these works make lots of great contributions to disclose the nature of dreams, oppose superstition and release our people from sufferings. For the reasons of dream is common physical and biological phenomenon and has close relationships with people's psychology, undoubtedly it has substantial significance on these aspects, such as exploring the meaning of dreams, learning the contents of dream theories in endo-meridians, discussing the contents of dreams and improving the researches of TCM dream theories. In this dissertation we adopted literature researching methods to explore the system of dream theory in endo-meridians and TCM dream syndromes. This dissertation consists of five parts: The first part is the general statement on TCM dream theory. Through the summary and analysis of developing status of TCM dream theory, we totally sum up the features and achievements of TCM dream theory in each dynasty and mirror the beneficial experiences in them and providing grounded background materials to our study. The second part is the wholly summary and analysis of dream theory in endo-meridians. We compiled the related sentences of endo-meridians, explored the theory background of dream theory in endo-meridians and researched on the causes, forming mechanisms of dreams, treatments and achievements on curing dream diseases. All of these works make the significant theory foundation of further studies. The third part is the exploration of the dream theory contents in endo-meridians. From the summary of classification of dreams in the ancient China we get the conclusion that the dream syndromes should be divided into two groups: one is concerned to the scenes of dream diseases. And the other is the dream symptoms. We discussed the exhibitions, mechanisms, discrimination and medications. In this dissertation, drawing from the major works of Chinese herbs and decoctions in each dynasties we analyzed the main contents of treatments on dream syndromes, summarized the TCM methods in curing dream syndromes in addition to medication, concluded the general outlines of TCM dream syndromes discrimination and pointed out that the scenes of dream diseases is the material basis of TCM dream diagnosis. The fourth part is the compare of the TCM and Western dream theory. We pointed out the strong and weak pointes of TCM dream theory and the use for references of Western dream theory to TCM dream theory, especially the contents of TCM syndromes. From these, we added new contents to TCM dream theory. The fifth part is the summary and expectation of this dissertation. All of the above statements, in this dissertation we summarized the developmental lines of TCM dream theory, put emphasis on the researches on the relevant contents of dream theory of endo-meridians and TCM dream syndromes, concluded the medication in curing dream diseases, pointed out the weak pointes of TCM dream theory and the reference usage of Western dream theory. All of these works help the clinical treatments of TCM dream syndromes and improve the developments of TCM dream theory. |
