This paper adopted literature research, hermeneutical methodology and comparative methods etc to conduct research into the system of imagery of dreams in Inner Classics of Yellow Emperor. The paper falls into five parts:1. origin of imagery of dreams. Imagery of dreams is one kind of imagery, and it is a particular form. Systmatic research of imagery study is the prerequisite of imagery research in dreams. Imagery in dreams express meanings with imagery, thus making it mystical.2. Pre-Inner Classics of Yellow Emperor research on imagery of dreams. A detailed review of the research of imagery in dreams before Inner Classics of Yellow Emperor is conducted.
