| Background:Cerebrovascular stenosis is an important risk factor of ischemic stroke. But the relation between it and stroke recurrence and prognosis has not been clarified. Previous foreign studies reported the relation between cerebrovascular stenosis and stroke recurrence and prognosis, but there was no control group. A professor in China has shown concern about it, there is only a report about internal carotid artery or middle cerebral artery stenosis and prognosis ,but there , is also no control group.Objectives:1 .To study the relation between cerebrovascular stenosis in acute ischemicstroke patients and stroke recurrence. 2.To study the relation between cerebrovascular stenosis in acute ischemicstroke patients and prognosis.3. To analyse the risk factors of stroke recurrence.4. To analyse the risk factors of prognosis.Methods:1. Patients (n=197) with acute ischemic stroke in Beijing China and Baotou inner Mongolia were enrolled. According the result of TCD or (and)MRA, DSA examination, the patients were devided into two groups:stenosis group and no stenosis group.2. TCD was conducted to detect intra- and extra-cranial vascular stenosis.3. Some patients were examined by MRA and (or)DSA.4. Follow-up of patients was by telephones. Patients were followed until occurrence of an end point: re-stroke or myocardial infarction(MI) or death.5. SPSS 8.0 for windows was used to do statistical analysis.Results:197 patients were followed-up, 8 patients were lost.1. Stroke recurrence rate of stenosis group(32.6%) is higher than that of non-stenosis group2. Cerebrovascular stenosis and age were the risk factors of prognosis of patients with acute ischemic stroke.3. Cerebrovascular stenosis, hypertension, strokehistory and CAD were the risk factors of re-stroke.4. Higher HDL-c level was significantly protective against Cerebrovascular stenosis and prognosis. Conclusion:Cerebrovascular stenosis is a prognosis factor of ischemic stroke. Re-stroke rate is higher in patients with stenosis than those with no-stenosis. HDL-c is a protective factor of the prognosis of ischemic stroke. |
