And our commitments about service trade including medical treatment and health-care related products are to be carried out .The competition among hospitals is inevitable and will become fiercer and fiercer. Thirdly, our human being has come into the age of knowledge. Some characteristics of knowledge economy have already seen I china .The hospital is a service organization with knowledge, technology, professionals and risk concentrated. All these have added importance and complexity into the hospital management. How to carry out a good hospital management to meet the requirements of market economy is a frequently studied and discussed issue among all medical workers, especially hospital decision-makers and managers.This paper is attempting to exert some related theories of business administration on a few prominent issues about hospital management with an expectation to work out management solutions for hospital decision-maker and managers.This paper deals with four special topics about hospitalmanagement. The first one is about the mission of a hospital. Some prevailing statements of the hospital's mission are not exactly as they should be .For the survival, competition and development of the hospital, the decision-makers and managers should have a strategic perspective and take into account of the influence from the environment, their resources, and the characteristics of their industry, and bring the whole staff into play when they are making the mission for their hospital. This should be a beneficial process for the concentration of the whole staff's thoughts and the cultivation of teamwork spirit, More attention should be paid to the drafting process and its implementation of the mission, in which a few factors are more important than others. The second topic is about the management system of a hospital. At present our hospitals are systematically classified into two for management. Whether it is profit-oriented or not ,a hospital is demanding the clear ownership of properties, the clear assignation of power and responsibility, no intervention into internal affairs from the government and its scientific management, and its legally independent operation. The third topic is about the human resources management (HRM). With its own characteristics, the HRM of hospital is different from that of an enterprise or an institutional unit or a traditional hospital. The objective of the hospital's HRM is to co-ordinate the objectives ofthe hospital with those of individuals .A diagnosis method is recommended, which is made up of four steps, diagnosis, prescription, implementation and evaluation. The last topic is about a few important issues of the service management in a hospital, which are the characteristics, the development. The hospital service products are deferent from tangible ones as well as those generally intangible ones. There are six types of new hospital service products and ten ways to develop them.
