Plants of Swertia genus are very important national medicinal herbs. Some species of Swertia have been written in pharmacopoeia of the peoples republic of C-hina and local medicine slanders. 40 species in Swertia genus have been done chemical research until now day, and 100 kinds of compound have been abstracted. They mainly include oleanolic acid, swertiamarine, swertiajqponin, sweroside, etc. Pharamacology study have shown that they have many uses. Such as protecting liver, relieving pain, keeping sedation, releasing spasm, resisting bacteriums, promoting hair growing, decree-asing blood pressure, etc. They are used by whole herbs. Bitter and cool. They all h-ave the effects of clearing heat to detoxify toxin and transforming dampness to help liver. They are mainly indicated for acute hepatitis with icterus, diarrhea, furuncles and carbuncles, odontalgia due to heat, cholecystitis, pneumonia, flu, inflammation in tonsil and medulla, etc. They are kinds of medicinal herbs that worthy of development and research. This genus have many species and it's quality stander is delayed. It is used disordered in different areas and it's quality is hard to handle, So: (1) Based on former research, this article firstly studies the macroscopic and microscopic characters of S. bifolia, S. cincta and S. erythrosticta. Find out that they are not only different in macroscopic characters but also have many differences in their histolo-gical structure. This provides evidences for the identify ication of Swerta in some extent. (2) Studies the TLC of the samples. It showes that we can effectively separate and detect the compound in all samples by TLC. (3) Firstly detectes the waviness of the anticlinal walls (SFC) and the ratio of the Feret's diameter (SLC) of the epidermal cells in the leaves of 11 species, and studies the methodology, then give out two conclusion: A. Epidermal cells in the place between middle and first side vein of the lamina on the third kont starting from ground have the most stable microscopic characters. B. Different species have different constant of SFC, SLF. This is a way that can effectively differentiate all the samples .The foundation of this method provides a new way to identify herbs with leaves. |
