But there are no sufficient emphasis on the syndromes of water stagnation due to Yin deficiency and the treatment method of tonifying Yin and eliminating water.In this article, the author studies the syndromes of Decoction of Polyporus Umbellatus from Treatise on Exogenous Febrile Disease, and discusses the pathogenesis of water stagnation due to Yin deficiency, and also emphasizes the relationship of tonifing Yin and eliminating water. There is a conclusion in the article: Tonifying Yin intend to strengthen the vital qi and to renew the function of Zang-Fu; Eliminating water intends to dispell the pathogenic factors. This conclusion will clarify the mistake that tonifying Yin can produce and improve the damp. and guide the clinic.
