| Purpose:To observe the effect of ophthalmic acupuncture and moxibustion, and traditional Chinese herbal decoctions on the patients with ischemic apoplexy hemiplegia.Material and method:60 cases with acute cerebral infraction whose age ranged from 40 to 85, were classified randomly into two group according to the diagnostic criteria of infraction of the brain, which were declared on the Third National Cerebral Vascular Disease Conference held in Chengdu in 1995, and the evaluation criteria of curative effect about apoplexia syndrome in traditional Chinese medical science, which were established by association of encephalopathy acute syndrome of National traditional Chinese medicine. Control group: the patients were treated administrated of Asprin only according to the common cure. Cure group: based on the control group, the patients were treated with ophthalmic acupuncture and moxibustion, and with Chinese traditional herbal decoctions. Three weeks later, the neural function defect grades, Fugl-Meyer motor function grades, the Activity of daily livings grades of the patients in each group were evaluated, and were compared with in control group and cure group in parallel.Results:1. The clinical neural function defect grades of the patients in control and cure groups were both decrease after therapy. There was no significantly difference between control group and cure group before therapy (p>0.05). After therapy, the clinical neural function defect grades of the patients in cure group are lower than those in control group, and the differences were significant (P<0.01).2. The Fugl-Meyer motor function grades in control and cure groups were both increase after therapy. There was no significantly difference between control group and cure group before therapy (p0.0>5). After therapy, the motor function of the patients in cure group recovered better than those in control group, and the differences were marked (P<0.01).3. The activity of daily livings grades of the patients in control and cure groups were increase both after therapy. There was no significantly difference between control group and cure group before therapy (p>0.05). The activity of daily livings motor function of the patients in cure group was improved much more than those in control group, and the differences were significant after therapy (P<0.01).Conclusion:The methods which the patients were treated with ophthalmic acupuncture and moxibustion, and with Chinese traditional herbal decoctions together, were more effective on the patients than those who was treated by common cure. |
