| Diabetes is a kind of chronic disease which is caused by interaction of heredity and the environmental factors, it can lead to damages of multiple systems in the body. In recent years, with the development of people's living standard day by day, incidence of diabetes is increasing year after year, and diabetic complications severely affect people's lives and health. Now people give more attention to Diabetes, so the study of the prevention and treatment of diabetes has become one of the focal points in exterior and interior. At present, western blood-sugar decreasing medicines are used extensively in clinic, but most of them have side effects, while Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)treat Diabetes conveniently and effectively which has great value in clinical application.The paper systematically describes the modern study progress of Diabetes and the understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) on Diabetes. This article divides into two parts, which are literatures and clinical research. The literatures include western medicine literature and Traditional Chinese Medicine literature.The western medicine literature summarizes diabetic foundational and clinical progress of domestic and abroad range in recent years, which includes the diabetic understanding, etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and type, and the treatment. The traditional Chinese medicine literature discusses diabetic relate records in historical materials, the research progression of TCM in the etiology and pathogenesis, diagnosis and type, and the treatment, propounding current questions and prospects.Objective:To observe the clinical effect of the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in the type of deficiency of qi and yin with Tianqijiangtang capsule and Metformin.Method:Choose the method of multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled, divide 80 cases of patients which were selected in line with the standards of type 2 diabetes of deficiency of qi and yin syndrome into two groups according to the random numbers, among which the treated group(40 cases)was treated by Tianqijiangtang capsule and Metformin, while the control group(40 cases)was treated by placebo and Metformin. Twelve-week was a course of treatment, every 4 weeks we detected the FBG, PBG, physical examination and TCM symptoms. After 12 weeks we observed and compared the clinical syndrome of patients, and observe the fasting blood glucose (FBG),2 hours postprandial blood glucose(PBG), glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c), total cholesterol(CHO) triglyceride(TG), high density lipoprotein (HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL) changes before and after the treatment.Result: 1. Two groups could both reduce significantly total score of symptom of TCM, but comparisons between the two groups are not different significantly (P>0.05), but the treating group did better in improving try mouth and throat, burnout fatigue, thirsty to drink, heart palpitation (P<0.05, P<0.01).2.Two groups could both reduce significantly blood sugar, and the treating group did better than the contrasting group(P<0.05); Two groups could both reduce significantly HbA1C but comparisons between the two groups are not different significantly (P> 0.05).3.The treating group showed significant efficiency than contrasting group in improving TC and LDL (P<0.05), but the two groups are not different significantly in improving TG and HDL(P> 0.05).4. There are no obvious adverse effects in the two groups.Conclusion:Tianqijiangtang capsule and Metformin have sure curative effect in treating type 2 diabetes mellitus in the type of deficiency of qi and yin, it can significantly improve clinical syndrome of diabetic patients, decrease the blood glucose and improve the abnormal metabolism of lipid. There are no obvious adverse effects related to the Tianqijiangtang capsule found during the experiment, so the Tianqijiangtang capsule is safe to use and worth widely used in clinical. |
