Methods:Syk, C-erbB-2 and Ki67 protein expression were evaluated in the tissues of 90 breast cancer patients as well as 30 breast fibro adenomas by immunohistochemistry (PV-900 method). Results:Positive rate of Syk, C-erbB-2 and Ki67 in breast cancer were 13.3%,20.0% and 42.2% and breast fibro adenomas were 93.3%,3.33% and 16.7%, respectively. Positive expression rate of C-erbB-2 and Ki67 in breast cancer was significantly higher than breast fibro adenomas (P<0.05). There was correlation between expression of C-erbB-2 and Ki67 protein and clinicpathological parameters such as lympho transformation, expression of ER and PR (P<0.05). There was no correlation between expression of C-erbB-2 and Ki67 protein and clinicpathological parameters such as patient's age, tumor histopathologic classification, size of tumor and clinical stage (P>0.05). There was no correlation between the expression of Syk and clinicpathological parameters. There was positive correlation between the expression of C-erbB-2 protein and lympho transformation (r=0.222, P<0.05). There was negaitive correlation between the expression of C-erbB-2 protein and expression of ER and PR (r=-0.280, r=-0.238, P<0.05), and there was negative correlation between the expression of Ki67 protein and lympho transformation, expression of ER and PR (r=-0.54, r=-0.503, r=-0.468, P<0.05). Conclusions: 1. Syk is expressed mainly in carcinomatous cytoplasm of breast tissue. Syk is negative expressed in typical malignancy breast cancer. Positive expression rate of breast fibro adenomas was significantly higher than in breast cancer. There was no correlation between the expression of Syk and clinicpathological parameters. 2. C-erbB-2 is expressed mainly in carcinomatous cytoplasm of breast cancer. There is correlation with auxiliary lymph nodes, transformation and expression of ER and PR. It is no correlation with tumor histopathlogic classification, size of tumor and clinical stage. C-erbB-2 is a good prognostic predictor in breast cancer.3. Ki67 is expressed mainly in cell nuclear of breast cancer. There is correlation with auxiliary lymph nodes, transformation and expression of ER and PR. It is no correlation with tumor histopathlogic classification, size of tumor and clinical stage. Ki67 is a good prognostic predictor in breast cancer. 4. Expression of C-erbB-2 and Ki67 could be chosen as predictors in clinical study of breast cancer. As a new index, Syk should be further studied to enlarge samples. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | breast cancer, C-erbB-2, Ki67, Syk, immunohistochemistry | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
