To know the degree of knowledge about contraception and reproductive health as well as the related attitudes of reproductive health and the occurrence of sexual behavior in order to provide scientific basis of progressing high quality reproductive health education and birth control service.Method: 87593 students who come from seven cities of "focus on integrated, comprehensive general categories, medicine or the medical department of university, the style of art" the four categories of national colleges and universities by stratified cluster random sampling were investigated through college students contraception and reproductive health knowledge, beliefs, behavior questionnaire of self-designed, by self-form survey to collect quantitative data. The database was constructed with Epidata 3.1. SAS 8.2 was used for data analysis.Result: 1. The degree of college students knowing about contraception is poor. 86.86% students believe that they have the necessary of understanding relevant knowledge. Many students consider that the main difficulty of acquiring knowledge is bad form and content of education, school doesn't attach importance to it. 2. The incidence of sexual behavior on college students is high, 15.65% of college students once have sex behavior. The average age of first sexual intercourse is 24.83 years old. The incidence of male sexual behavior is 20.17%, and the incidence of female sexual behavior is 11.43%. 3. Most college students are non-marital sexual tolerance. 57.50% students approve or don't care about "sexual liberation" concept. The ratio that students think male and female pre-marital sex is acceptable accounted for 80.18% and 74.88%, respectively. 4. Only 55.36% students take contraception measure in the first sexual behavior. 26.14% student of these admitted that they or their sexual partners had occurred accidental pregnancy. The use of birth control service is low. 5. 90.15% students believe that it is necessary to develop birth control and reproductive health education, hoping to know sexual physiology and sexual psychology, knowledge of contraception, sexual ethics, sexual transmitted diseases as well as emergency contraception and unintended pregnancy and abortion through in form of scientific literature, newspapers and magazines, networking, topic seminars and courses.Conclusion:1.The degree of college students at this stage of China's knowing about contraception and reproductive health is generally not high, girls are better than boys, the category of medical students are in a better understanding of the situation, the arts and sports category students are poorer cognitive. 2. College students are mostly tolerance for non-marital sexual behavior. Boys have more liberal sexual attitudes than girls. The sexual attitudes of arts and sports category students are more liberal, and the sexual attitudes of medical students more conservative.3. College students having sex behavior are in a higher proportion. The incidence of sex behavior increases with rising of age and academic qualifications. Boys have a higher incidence of sexual behavior than girls. The students of arts and sports category are in a higher incidence of sex behavior. On the contrary, students of medical and agricultural category are in a lower incidence of sex behavior. 4. The use situation of contraceptive measures among students is bad, and the incidence of accidental pregnancy higher. The contraceptives and contraceptive services provided by schools can not meet the demand. Students would like to know of contraceptive and reproductive health knowledge.Suggestion: Developing good form and content of reproductive health education in college is necessary. We should teach different content of reproductive health education according to the characteristics of college students. Strengthening of moral education will help students to establish a scientific concept of sex.
