Objective:to study the psychological health on the hyperthyroidism and evaluate the deference among the diverse personalities. Method:Ninety-six cases accorded with the inclusion criteria who suffered from hyperthyroidism were selected, who came to consult the advices to doctors in metabolic and endocrinology department of General Hospital affiliated Tianjin medical University from September in 2009 to March in 2010. They filled in the questionnaires by their own will. The Eysenck Personality Questionnaire was applied to survey their personalities and the cases were divided into four personality groups by the E and N value. The Symptom Checklist-90 was applied to evaluate the psychological health of the cases, which was obtained by the various values of SCL-90 compared with the norm of Chinese. In the end study the deference of psychological health among the diverse personalities groups by the SCL-90. Results: The hyperthyroidism's psychological health are declined, the positive items and the average general score of SCL-90 are higher than the norm of Chinese (P<0.05).The general score of SCL-90 and the N score of EPQ demonstrate correlations (r=0.679, P<0.01). There is no deference on psychological health of the cases between the choler and melancholy, neither does it show between the sanguinity and phlegm(P> 0.05). The psychological health of the sanguinity and phlegm is better than the choler and melancholy. Conclusion:The doctors should offer the appropriate psychological intervene meanwhile the medicine treatment, and pay more attention to the cases of choler and melancholy traits.
