Spatial Development Of Economies In The Yellow River Basin

River basin economy is the regional economy that based on natural geographical environments of the river basin. The Yellow River Basin across the eastern, central and western parts of our country, and it plays an important role in State's regional economy, the Yellow River Basin has a long developmental history and abundant natural resources which have great potential for economic development. However, there are some differences in topography, climate and precipitation, mineral resources, population distribution, economic activities, stage of development and the distribution of social resources in the Yellow River Basin, therefore, it has an important significance for us to identify and optimize developmental mode of economic space in the Yellow River Basin.This paper attempts to study on the present system for economic developmental space in the Yellow River Basin from the standpoint of developmental mode of economic space, the emphases to the study are current economic situation of spatial differentiation, identification of developmental mode of economic Space, economic efficiency of developmental mode of diversified economic Space and optimization and developmental strategy to developmental mode of economic Space in the Yellow River Basin. We can draw the following conclusions.First of all, judging from the differences in economic space in the Yellow River Basin, there are great differences between Qinghai in the upper reaches of the Yellow River and Shandong in the lower reaches of the Yellow River, but the differences are being gradually narrowed; there have relatively minor differences in internal economy between the middle reaches of the Yellow River and neighboring areas while still shows a trend of further expansionl; before 2000, the difference in the province is a major factor influencing the difference of economy in the Yellow River Basin; but in 2005, the interprovincial differences is a major factor influencing the difference of economy, which exceed the difference in the province in contributions to economic difference of the whole Yellow River.Second, the research finds that there are four major developmental modes of economic space at present in the Yellow River Basin, which are the developmental mode of growth-pole, multi-center developmental mode, developmental mode of "pole-axis" space and developmental modeof "circle-layer" space. The four developmental modes from west to east that the state of development is gradually emerged from a "pole" to "pole - axis" to "circle-layer" .Third, the Yellow River Basin economic space is of existing four space of development model at present. "circle-layer" development model which in the economic development of a relatively advanced stage, the high efficient economic operation, the leading role of the surrounding radiation also the best, but when this model is not yet perfect in the development stage, the economic efficiency of the edge of "circle-layer" are relatively low. In the Multi-center space development of economic models, the overall development of the regional economic situation better, because of which the different stages of economic development, several of the overall efficiency of central cities are not in the best relative status, from the current level of economic development to see also not very high, but such an economic development model of the space surrounding cities of the leading role better. Growth-pole and the development of a "pole- axis" development mode, economic efficiency is limited to the higher growth in polar regions, and most of the growth in the surrounding areas and the end of the developmental mode of "pole-axis" leading role of little radiation is not strong.Fourth, the economic space on the Yellow River Basin development optimization, the upper reaches of the region should focus on strengthening the existing growth-pole and in the conditional extension of the axis region. the Hetao region need to strengthen the existing regional centres for the development, and enhance their own economic strength. The middle reaches of the two economies axis region needs on the existing basis, relying on the extension of the terrain and communication lines, increasing the number of cities on axis region, to promote regional economic development, and narrowing regional economic differences in purpose. In the lower reaches, the Henan economic circle focusing on development high-level regional economic and increase in high-level regional strength, and constantly improve the "circle-layer" structure, enhance regional levels of radiation; Shandong in the economic sphere should be to maintain the existing high level of regional economic development. at the same time, reduce economic disparities within the region, using its own resources and location advantages, the development of the Yellow River Basin for the economic development of the lead, led from the basin-wide economic development.
